How to protect and maintain wood doors

In the varnished doors, a cloth dampened with oil-based soap should be wiped, always cleaning in the wood shaft. Then, with a dry cloth, is necessary to remove any excess product residue. For painted doors (especially white ones), it is best to use a household neutral product diluted with water, which should be passed through the door surface with a sponge.

Internal doors should not be wet under any circumstances. To clean the floor near the doors, use only a damp cloth. Never throw water in the areas near the doors, this will accelerate the wear and can cause big damage to the items. Hinges and locks are important items on wooden doors, and should be lubricated periodically. Take care that excess oil does not run into the wood causing stains!

Exterior Doors

Exterior wood doors will suffer from weather damage more quickly than interior doors that are covered by the house. This means that you should inspect them more regularly. Performing an inspection of all six sides of the door at least once a year. Do not be lazy to keep your doors clean. Clean them whenever there are signs of dirt or stains. Make sure also to clean seasonal sheets when they start to accumulate in your garden, as cleaning the environment helps to keep the doors clean.
