BLOG/ Doors: Customization is Coolest

Imagine if it were possible to liken everyone to a colour palette based simply on personality. There are endless colour options and types of people—vivacious folks whose confidence shines, the more quietly self-assured individuals, the somewhere-in-betweens and on and on. These traits might be apparent in choice of clothing or home décor, or they may not be. And people change; their tastes and style evolve, so holding them to a single idea wouldn’t work. That’s exactly why EightDoors’ range of interior doors is pre-primed—they’re white for a very good reason. Paint them the “in” hue, leave them stark or inject rooms with prints and patterns. It all works.

So, drumroll please… Pantone has announced their choice for 2019 Colour of the Year—Living Coral (a.k.a. Pantone 16-1546). The very bold, warm orange-y pink hue is ideal for the consummate colour lover, and funnily enough perfectly fine for those who gravitate towards the opposite, since that’s the thing about colour and customization, it’s all about choices. Selections that are about individuality and personal style, and supported by EightDoors in our line of easily modified doors (we believe colour is integral to creating the space you want to live in). After all, Benjamin Moore has a 2019 Colour of the Year too… and it could not be more different than vibrant pink—Metropolitan AF-690, a serene, silvery grey that seems to harmonize effortlessly with its surroundings. The best thing about these colour trends is that they should be used to suit whatever works for an individual space—and the individual. Want to go all out and splash entire rooms in Living Coral, or perhaps try a single wall or statement ceiling (or door, of course), that decision is totally up to you.

Like in fashion, home trends come and go (although thankfully with less frequency). Striking wall colours are a projected 2019 décor trend, as is a primarily white space punctuated by loud splashes of colour (we’re hearing a 90/10 split is the way to go). Geometric and tribal patterns are also making a comeback, albeit in new and more modern ways. Black and white, millennial pink and matte finishes are all forecast to be huge in 2019. The minimalist shades and ultra stark rooms of the recent years are feeling a bit passé (to the interior design crowd), but if two sticks of furniture and pale walls are your thing—stay with it. Or if you adore Pantone’s 2018 Colour of the Year (Ultra Violet 18-3838), choose that. Or perhaps stripes or polka dots or a technicolour rainbow of twenty of your preferred hues. Whatever the palette of choice, EightDoors offers the right interior door to suit your surroundings.

Think of any of our doors as a blank canvas. We created our entire range to suit the taste and style of every individual. Throw the rules out the window and customize your piece to enhance any space, with any colour or print—flashy or refined, change them every year, or every season (if that’s what you want). EightDoors are pre-primed to make change as effortless as possible so our customers can choose the finishes that feel fresh, surprising or just right to them. A reimagined door adds interest and a unique appeal and best of all, a much more memorable element than any common, been-there-done-that accent wall ever could.
