Only the Z-shape Door Models come with a groove on the bottom; The Lite Door models do not come with a groove. We suggest you use an exterior floor guide, or you can route a groove on the bottom as well, as the bottom rail is solid wood.

Yes, these doors can be installed as swing/pocket doors. Just make sure to use a hardware appropriate for the weight of the door. If you do not know the weight of the door you bought, please feel free to contact us at doors@eightdoors.com

The doors are engineered constructed for a better performance. They are not completely made of wood. The panels are typically made from MDF (medium density fiberboard). Vertical stiles and horizontal rails have a solid pine wood core feature a thin MDF or wood veneer for a smooth surface and better finish.

It means the door has a grid of pine wood inside with a 3/8-in. slat in every inch in the core, about 50% of the core is hollow, except the edges and the areas to install the knob/handle that are solid wood.

We do not recommend our louvered doors for AC closet door installation. These doors were designed for rooms such as closets, pantries, laundry rooms, etc.

The door slab has a trimming allowance of 1-in. at the bottom rail, 1/4-in. on each side, and no trimming at the top rail. Trimming more than we recommend will void the warranty.

Any trimming of your bifold doors will void the warranty.
