Our doors are not fire-rated. These are interior doors, which should not be exposed to a direct source of heat or moisture, as is the case for exterior doors. If the door will be completely sheltered from the weather, you may be able to use it, however, we advise you to check what the building codes in your state require for this type of install.

Why is there such a huge price difference at Lowe’s vs Hope Depot prices? I am looking to buy the solid core 1 panel shaker door and I noticed the price is considerably less at Home Depot. Are these doors exactly the same or is there something different about them that I do not see?

Door looking to purchase states- This solid wood door is made from planted forest trees in accordance with FSC regulations, being an environmentally friendly product. This door is made for interior use only, and is fully finished product, so it should not be painted or stained in any way to prevent damage to the product.

I recently purchased 5 single panel shakers at Home Depot. 3 had damage, and I have now found that another has a manufacturing defect. I was blae to repair 2 that had damaged corners. The 3rd has face damage (cracked) on a verticle stile. The manufacturing defect of the 4th is on the bottom stile, and is a wavy face where you can see the underlying structure, also apprears this door was attempted to be repaired at factory as the verticle stile face is not smooth with the bottom stile. Now to top it off, I have sent 2 emails and have not received a response! No customer service phone number! Very poor customer service for a company that expounds their customer service and quality. I am a contractor and these were purchased for a customer. Your package material say do not return to store, that’s where they will go if I don’t hear back very soon.
Unfortunately, I have 3 doors painted already, so I can’t go with a different brand at this point, as they need to match.
